Enrolment

 

The Centre operates under the Education and Care Services National Law (Queensland) Act 2011. These regulations set maximum numbers for each age group. The Centre also adheres to the Priority of Access guidelines set out by the Government for the allocation of positions when there is a waiting list or when a number of parents are applying for a limited number of vacant places. The Priority of Access guidelines are as follows:

First Priority

A child at risk of serious abuse or neglect;


Second Priority

A child of a single parent who satisfies, or of parents who both satisfy the work/training/study test under Section 14 of the 'A New Tax System (Family Assistance) Act 1999'

 

Third Priority

Any other child.

 

The Centre operates under the Education and Care Services National Law (Queensland) Act 2011. These regulations set maximum numbers for each age group. Another determinant of numbers is the area of unencumbered floor space in each Unit. The numbers of children in each group is displayed on our licence and outside every play room.

 

From 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) requires Living Faith Early Learning Centre to undertake a quality rating and assessment process. The National Quality Framework sets a new national benchmark for the quality of education and care services. The National Quality Framework is divided into seven Quality Areas:

 

  • Educational program and practice
  • Children's health and safety
  • Physical environment
  • Staffing arrangements
  • Relationships with children
  • Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
  • Governance and Leadership

 

Licence

The NQF includes a national legislative framework that consists of the Education and Care National Law Act 2010 (the National Law) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 (National Regulations)

The Centre is licensed to take 75 children each day in the following groups:

Nursery

0-2 years

Toddlers

15 months - 3 years

Juniors

2 - 3 years

Kindergarten 1

3 - 5 years

Kindergarten 2

3 - 5 years
